FAQ

Mosquito Control Questions

What's the difference between the perimeter barrier and the In2Care system?

We offer different approaches to mosquito control because every property is a little different.

Our perimeter barrier treatment is a broad treatment, similar to fogging. We treat around the exterior of the home and other areas where adult mosquitoes tend to rest and gather, such as shrubs, landscaping, shaded areas, and vegetation. This helps knock down mosquitoes that are already present and provides protection around the property.

The In2Care system is a more targeted approach. We place discreet stations in strategic locations around your property that attract female mosquitoes. When mosquitoes visit the stations, they pick up the treatment and can carry it to other breeding areas. This allows us to target adult mosquitoes as well as developing mosquitoes in breeding sites.

We can use either method depending on your property and mosquito activity, or we may recommend a combination of the two. Our goal isn't to sell you the biggest treatment, we want to use the approach that makes the most sense for your property.

How much does mosquito control cost?

Mosquito control can be broken down into an affordable monthly fee rather than one large seasonal expense.

Pricing depends on the size of the property, mosquito activity, and which treatment approach is best for the property. We'll explain your options and pricing before beginning service.

How often do you need to treat my yard?

Typically, we service mosquito-control properties every 4 to 6 weeks during mosquito season.

Weather, property conditions, vegetation, standing water, and mosquito pressure can all affect activity, so we'll adjust our recommendations when necessary.

How far in advance should I schedule treatment for a special event?

If you're planning an outdoor wedding, graduation party, birthday, family reunion, cookout, or other event, we recommend contacting us 2 to 3 weeks in advance.

That gives us time to treat the property and allows the mosquito-control program time to work before your guests arrive.

Do I need to be home for treatment?

No. As long as our technician can access the areas that need to be treated, you do not need to be home.

We simply ask that pets be kept inside during the appointment.

Is mosquito treatment safe around children and pets?

Our mosquito-control products are applied according to their label directions and with your family and pets in mind.

We ask that children and pets stay away from the areas while we're actively treating and that pets remain inside during the appointment. Your technician can let you know when treated areas are ready for normal use again.

Will mosquito treatment get rid of every mosquito?

No mosquito company can realistically promise a mosquito-free yard. Mosquitoes fly, neighboring properties affect activity, and East Tennessee gives them plenty of places to breed.

Our goal is to significantly reduce the mosquito population around your home and outdoor living areas so you can actually enjoy your property.

If someone promises you that a mosquito will never cross your property line again, we'd like to meet the mosquito who signed that agreement.

Why can't you just spray once?

A one-time treatment can reduce the adult mosquitoes present at that time, but it doesn't prevent new mosquitoes from entering your property or new generations from developing.

For ongoing control throughout mosquito season, regular service every 4 to 6 weeks is much more effective than waiting until mosquito activity becomes unbearable and starting over each time.

Can you treat before we move into our new home?

Absolutely. If you are relocating to East Tennessee, we can coordinate treatment so you don't necessarily have to be at the property.

As long as we have permission and access to the areas we need to service, we can often perform exterior treatments before or around your move-in date.

What's the best mosquito-control option for my property?

It depends.

A heavily wooded property, a suburban neighborhood, a home beside a creek, and a small city lot don't necessarily need the exact same approach.

That's why we offer both broad perimeter and barrier treatments and targeted In2Care mosquito control. We'll look at your property, listen to what you're experiencing, and recommend the option that makes sense rather than automatically putting every customer into the same program.
